Unique experience picnicing in the Australian Bush,
 but still within the city.

Come and join in, for an afternoon of great jazz music, and fun
to put you in the mood for dancing. The music is for listening
and yes, for dancing. Bring your own picnic lunch, beach chair,
rugs, drinks and friends. These picnics are from 12 noon to 3:00pm.
You may even like to get dressed-up for a bit of fun, and there
is also a raffle, so you might also be lucky enough to take
some CD music home with you. All are welcome to come
along for these picnics at Berry Island Reserve -
 [[[ UBD-215N10 ]]]

The Berry Island jazz music picnic is always on
the Sunday after the 3rd Friday [(just so obscure,
you are bound to remember)]. For those
coming to Berry Island Reserve, just come to
the bush hill on top of Berry Island (no you do
not need a boat), we are over the flat green
bits at the very end of Shirley Road, Wollstonecraft.
 So see you there.

 * General Description of Concerts: Experienced chamber music
players who have a group together have the opportunity to
perform at the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre (KNC).
The aim is to hold a concert at 5pm on the first Sunday
of each month between March and December.
They are variously referred to as Kirribilli Concerts
and as Sunset Concerts. KNC volunteers put on a splendid
supper, which amply covers the $10/$5 entry that they charge.
Performing gives players a goal and incentive to practise.

 * Venue: The Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre (KNC) is a
heritage-listed sandstone building at 16-18 Fitzroy Street, Kirribilli
near the intersection with Jeffrey Street.

 * Car: parking may be difficult and time should be allowed to walk
from the car to the KNC.

 * Rail: KNC is a 5-minute stroll from Milsons Point Railway Station;
there is a frequent rail service from Town Hall, and a 15-minute
 service from the North Shore.

 * Ferry: Milsons Point Wharf is a short walk under Sydney
Harbour Bridge to the KNC. There is a ferry every half hour which
takes five minutes from Circular Quay and nine minutes from Balmain.

Do you want to help this year?
Brian and friends, is reliant on the help and contributions of Brian Paull and his friends.
You will appreciate that to put on functions of this nature takes substantial effort and
incurs considerable expense. If you can help on the day to (say) distribute the food,
a great way to mingle, or maybe introduce newcomers to others, and we always
appreciate some good old-fashioned muscle, please call us. Every little bit helps.

Brian and Friends - Summer Salsa 2008

A huge thank you to everyone that came to this year's Summer Salsa party.
The rain managed to disappear after a very brief appearance, and Bob
the DJ pumped out our favorite dance tracks through the afternoon
and into the evening. Even though numbers were slightly down
this year we still raised 230 quality gifts, so again, many thanks,
it was a great success thanks to all our friends and supporters.

Helen and Lynne put on a delicious spread of food, and this year
Pasta Pantry's Woollahra store donated some of the salads, which
arrived just in time to replenish our dwindling supplies, so they
were much appreciated. And once again, many thanks to
Tien's Hot Bread Dee Why store who donate the bread
rolls each year, and the Harbord Beach Hotel who
provide us with ice, and Woolworths donated $50
to help with the purchase of food.

And many thanks to all our friends who give their time and
talent to make the day happen, what a team! And of course,
Brian Paull, a true philanthropist, if not for his generosity
and hospitality, this event would not happen.

Brian and Friends - Carioca by the Sea 2007
A big "thank you" to all our friends who came to last year's 'Carioca by the Sea'.
The weather was perfect, the music exciting, a mix of Salsa,
Ce-Roc and other contemporary styles. What a magical time
watching the Christmas Tree disappear under all those toys.
Meeting new and old friends, lots of laughter, and dancing
through the afternoon and into the night. We contributed
over 370 Christmas gifts to the The Smith Family for
distribution in New South Wales. What a fantastic
achievement, only possible because of your generosity
and involvement. As always a big thank you to the
 fantastic helpers on the day.
